Katie Fasken
As Founder and Managing Partner of August Advisors, Katie recognized the need to connect exceptional private investment managers with Canadian institutional capital. Prior to launching August Advisors, Katie was Managing Director, Co-Head Capital Raising at a $15bn private equity firm, where she was directly responsible for building out the team and raising institutional capital globally, with direct coverage of Canadian institutional capital. She began her career in Investment Banking and Institutional Equity Sales at CIBC, one of Canada’s largest banks. She is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University, where she earned an Honours in Business Administration.

Mark Fasken
As Managing Partner of August Advisors, Mark brings the discipline of public company investor relations to private markets fundraising. He co-founded Irwin in 2017 and spent nine years as its Chief Operating Officer, building a capital markets software business used by public companies and their advisors globally. Irwin was backed by K1 Investment Management and acquired by FactSet in 2024. Earlier in his career, Mark led sales teams at Influitive and at Pressly, which was acquired by Vision Critical. He served as Vice-Chair of the NIRI 2023 Annual Conference Committee and is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University.

Alana Losier
Alana connects global private investment managers with Canadian institutional capital creating all-encompassing capital raising solutions. She focuses on fundraising and project management, providing exceptional service to August Advisors clients. Prior to joining August Advisors, Alana was an Investment Banking Associate at CIBC in the Global Diversified Industries Group, advising a wide range of clients on M&A, equity and debt financings and strategic projects. She is a graduate of the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours).
Vice President
Amanda works with global private investment managers to access Canadian institutional capital. She supports fundraising initiatives and project coordination, with a strong commitment to client engagement. Prior to joining August Advisors, Amanda was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Real Estate Group at CIBC Capital Markets, where she helped execute over $5bn in advisory and financing transactions spanning M&A, property brokerage, equity, and debt financings. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.
